Why Planning your Session is such a BIG DEAL!

Do you remember when I shared this a few months ago?!

The 2 most important elements in planning a family portrait:

#1...Have the end result in your mind. Knowing how & where you want to display your prints is so important! It helps you pick the best clothing and have an idea of the style of art and size you want to display.

#2... What is going to make your heart happy to see every day?! I like to talk to you about your family dynamics. The REAL things that make you who you are. Then, we can find a fun and creative way to tell your story.

Well, I wanted to share with you a beautiful example of this! Sharon, my long time client & friend said she wanted to create a special image of her & her husband. She knew the image would display in her bedroom, probably long & horizontally over their bed. She said she wanted something that felt spontaneous, lots of back light & something that when you looked at it would speak their love & joy for each other. With just that bit of information, and a quick inspiration photo she texted me, we created this beautiful image!

Once the image was created she texted me an image of her bedroom with literally a 8.5x11 piece of paper for scale. We met on Zoom and worked on creating the perfect size to display above her bed. A 20"x40" Gallery Wrap Canvas fit perfectly! Sharon also preferred the image in B&W. However, the B&W looked better warmed up a bit to blend with her room colors.

Sharon picked up her beautiful art piece last week and she sent me these snaps of her room. This, my friends, is the "WHY"!

Most people when they call me have no idea what they want, nor have they thought beyond, "it's time for pictures". That is totally okay! That's where planning comes in.
