Did you know that some people look at our world, and the people living in it and call us "the lost generation"? I'm serious, they really do! It's because most of us see everything of importance in digital form. Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat... we all love them and we all use them on a daily basis but the truth of the matter is, they're not going to be around forever. The memories we create and share on those apps and websites will be gone in a few years... then what? Our lives and our memories truly will be lost.
Because we live in such a digital, technological driven world, a lot of people have their photos taken and simply want "the files". We often wonder what they'll do with these files after receiving them. If you ONLY had those precious memories on a CD or flash drive, they wouldn't be doing anybody any good. We know that life is busy, and it gets in the way of all the tasks you plan to do day in and day out. More often than not, those "files" you received from your photo session will simply be lost or forgotten (if not damaged or corrupted before then)... Plus, have you ever noticed that you can literally feel the difference between scrolling through old pictures on your cell phone, and actually holding them in your hand, or flipping through a family photo album? It's an entirely different experience.
GUYS, printing is important! But as artists, we understand that wall art, and photo albums are a financial investment. However, we also KNOW that they're so worth it! We know by the look on our clients' faces when they come to pick up their canvas of their newborn baby, who they'd been praying for for too long. We know when we watch clients wipe tears from their cheek as they flip through the photo album that captured their family while their Grandma was still alive. Prints capture memories and make them tangible. We promise that you'll be comforted in knowing that those memories are going to last a long, long time.
If you find yourself saying "it's too expensive" just look at how much you spend a new couch, or kitchen table and compare it to the cost of printing your artwork. They're probably fairly close investments. BUT, which one would you save first if (heaven forbid) your house was burning down? Or conversely, which one will you be selling at a garage sale in a few years? Don't you want YOUR memories to outlive you and be passed down for generations? We want that for you. We're not asking you to invest in giant canvases from every photo session you've ever been a part of. Just print, somehow. Share your fondest memories with others, display small prints in your home. Do more than just post them on Facebook. I don't think you'll regret it.
We are print artists here at Essenza. We don't believe our work is complete until it's been printed. We stand by that and wholeheartedly believe in it.
